REKUIEM Announces New Drummer, Keyboardist

July 23, 2007

REKUIEM (formerly REQUIEM),the cult NWOBHM band that was at the very start of the British metal movement alongside such names as DIAMOND HEAD and WITCHFINDER GENERAL, has issued the following update:

"At last REKUIEM can proudly announce the new line up to take us into the next chapter of REKUIEM studio recording and live work.

"The eagerly awaited new drummer is Paul Rodgers; the band call him 'Rimmer'! He's previously worked with EDEN, ARK and PREDATOR and is a great acquisition to the REKUIEM ranks. REKUIEM have also recruited a keyboard player, namely Neil 'Leads' Taylor, previously having played with some of the NWOBHM greats such as CLOVEN HOOF. 'Leads' is another fantastic addition to the ranks and the eerie haunting keyboard sounds that 'Leads' creates really add to the 'sound of doom' that the cult band REKUIEM are so well known for.

"With the new lineup now in place, REKUIEM plan to record the new album to be entitled 'Raise the Dead' hopefully over the coming months and certainly to take the new lineup out on the road around November/December this year. Gigs are currently being planned and will be announced shortly!"

In 1980, REQUIEM issued its first and last single, the self-financed "Angel of Sin" on Sacrificial Records. The single was backed by "Sacrificial Wanderer" and was issued without a picture sleeve. It is now incredibly rare and somewhat of a collector's item for NWOBHM fanatics.

REKUIEM's debut album, "Time Will Tell", was released last year via Majestic Rock.
